Last year, Ivana Baquero spent several months in New Zealand bringing her character to life in Spartacus: House of Ashur. The series, which wrapped production just a couple of months ago, is set to premiere this fall on Starz.
Spartacus: House of Ashur is created by Steven S. DeKnight, who serves as both showrunner and executive producer, alongside Rick Jacobson and Aaron Helbing, also executive producers. Produced by Lionsgate Television, the series was greenlit by Starz in November 2023 and it explores an alternate timeline—what if Ashur (Nick Tarabay) had survived the eruption of Mount Vesuvius at the end of Spartacus: Vengeance?
The original Spartacus series debuted on Starz in 2010 with Spartacus: Blood and Sand, followed by the prequel Spartacus: Gods of the Arena in 2011, Spartacus: Vengeance in 2012, and Spartacus: War of the Damned in 2013.
The cast includes Nick Tarabay, Graham McTavish, Tenika Davis, Jamaica Vaughan, Ivana Baquero, Jordi Webber, Claudia Black, India Shaw-Smith, and Leigh Gill. Fans can also look forward to Lucy Lawless reprising her iconic role as Lucretia, wife of Batiatus.
Spartacus: House of Ashur will premiere this fall, but in the meantime, check out the teaser trailer for a sneak peek of what's to come!
