Updated: Jan 18, 2022

The horror comedy Black Friday, directed by Casey Tebo with Devon Sawa, Ivana Baquero, Ryan Lee, Stephen Peck, Michael Jai White and Bruce Campbell, finally gets to European Festivals: Festival de l'Alpe d'Huez will be the first to present the project to the french public.

The 25th edition of the Festival de l'Alpe d'Huez is an event that promotes comedy films in France.

Since 1997, it has been a showcase for box office hits, short films and other gems of the big screen.

The whole event is a lighthearted occasion led by a lively jury: Omar Sy, Gérard Jugnot, Antoine de Caunes, Fabrice Lucchini and Florence Foresti.

This year's edition will be held from Monday 17 to Sunday 23 January 2022.

The screening of Black Friday, which will be presented out of competition, is set on Friday 21 January at 11PM at Salle Philippe De Broca in Alpe d'Huez, France.

The movie, based on Greskoviak's experience as retail, is set on Thanksgiving night and follows a group of disgruntled toy store employees who have to work on the busiest shopping night of the year. Meanwhile, an alien parasite crashes to Earth in a meteor and the group of misfits led by store manager Jonathan (Bruce Campbell) and longtime employee Ken (Devon Sawa) soon find them themselves battling against hordes of holiday shoppers who have been turned into monstrous creatures hellbent on a murderous rampage on Black Friday.

The entrance is free, but to access to the Festival de l'Alpe d'Huez it is needed the EU Digital COVID Certificate and a mask is mandatory for the entire duration of the film.
